Bob has been a train buff all of his life. Bob was always fascinated by traction engines as a child. This became a train addiction as he grew older! I remember the first time I went to Bob’s home and we had to negotiate a few railway lines and a turntable before we got to the front door! At the time we were planning a train holiday with him – but those stories will have to wait for another time! Here he tells us a smidgeon of his experiences. In recent years he has ridden on steam trains all over the world. In many he has found his way onto the footplate. Here he tells us of his early years and how he took his passion with him when the family moved from Halifax, to Blackpool, both well known for the trams!
The tapestry in the pictures was sewn for Bob by Ruth, one of his daughters. It was a special birthday present.
